How long does a Matterport scan take?
A typical 3,000 sq ft commercial space takes 1.5–2 hours to scan. Larger spaces of 10,000+ sq ft may require 4–6 hours. We schedule around your business hours to minimize disruption.
How accurate are the measurements?
Matterport Pro3 cameras (what we use) are accurate to ±1% at distances up to 20 meters. For a 20-foot room, that’s within ±0.24 inches — far more reliable than a tape measure under field conditions.
Do we need to do anything before the scan?
Clear obvious clutter and ensure normal lighting is on. The camera captures exactly what’s there — we can’t edit out objects after the fact. Furniture and fixtures are fine; piles of cardboard and open storage bins are not.
Can I get the floor plan as a PDF or DWG file?
Yes. All commercial packages include a dimensioned floor plan exported as PDF. DWG (AutoCAD) export is available on commercial and large packages, or as an add-on for residential scans.
How long is the scan hosted online?
We host your scan on the Matterport Cloud for 12 months, included in the price. Annual renewal hosting is available at a flat rate. You can also download the raw scan data at any time.
