Bathroom remodeling across Albany and the Capital Region.
Tile showers, tub-to-shower conversions, accessible walk-ins, and full gut renovations. One crew handles demo through finish — demo, waterproofing, plumbing, tile, fixtures — so there is no handoff between trades and nobody to blame when something goes wrong.

What a bathroom remodel costs here
We give itemised written pricing after seeing the room. These ranges are so you can sanity-check a budget first.
Half bath. Vanity, toilet, floor tile, lighting, paint. No shower or tub work.
To the studs. New waterproofing, tile shower or tub surround, vanity, fixtures, floor.
Larger footprint, double vanity, frameless glass, heated floor, custom tile work.
Curbless entry, blocking for grab bars, wider door, roll-in or low-threshold shower.
Ranges reflect Albany-area labour and material costs. Moving plumbing, structural repair from prior leaks, and long-lead tile all push the upper end. Relocating a toilet drain is the single biggest cost jump in a bathroom.
The part you will never see is the part that matters.
Every failed tile shower we get called to fix failed for the same reason: water got behind the tile and had nowhere to go. Tile is not waterproof. Grout is not waterproof. The assembly behind them is what keeps water out of your floor joists.
Ask any contractor quoting your bathroom what their shower build-up is. If the answer is “cement board and a coat of something,” keep calling.
How we build a shower
- Framing checked and corrected. Studs plumb, blocking added where fixtures and future grab bars will land.
- Sloped substrate. Pre-sloped pan or mud bed pitched correctly to the drain — no ponding.
- Bonded waterproof membrane. Continuous across walls, floor, curb, and up over the corners. Seams and pipe penetrations sealed with matching band and collars.
- Flood test before tile. The pan gets filled and held. If it does not hold, we find out now rather than eighteen months from now.
- Tile set on the membrane. Full mortar coverage, especially at the corners and the shelf.
- Movement joints and sealed changes of plane. Corners get flexible sealant, not grout. Grout in a corner cracks — always.
What we do
Every phase in-house — demo, waterproofing, tile, plumbing, fixtures, vanity, lighting, and finish. One crew, one contract, no handoff surprises.
Tub-to-shower conversion
Removing an unused tub for a full walk-in tile shower. The most requested job we do, and usually the biggest single improvement to how a bathroom actually gets used.
Most popularCustom tile showers
Niches, benches, curbless entries, and full-height tile. Layout dry-set and confirmed with you before anything is permanently fixed.
Full gut-to-stud remodels
Everything out, everything new — including whatever the last renovation hid behind the walls.
2–3 weeksFreestanding & alcove tub work
Soaking tubs, alcove replacements, and tub surrounds. Freestanding tubs need floor support and drain relocation checked first.
Vanity, fixtures & glass
Single and double vanities, mirrors, faucets, and frameless shower glass measured after tile rather than before.
Heated floors & ventilation
Electric radiant under tile, and exhaust sized to the room and ducted outside — not into the attic, which is where a surprising number of them end up.
Accessible and walk-in conversions
A lot of our bathroom work is people making a house work for another twenty years rather than moving.
Curbless and low-threshold showers. A roll-in or zero-step entry needs the floor structure assessed first — the drain has to sit below the finished floor, which sometimes means working between joists.
Grab bar blocking. The cheapest thing you will ever do is add solid blocking behind the tile while the walls are open. Bars can go in now or in ten years, but the blocking has to happen during the remodel.
Door width and turning space. Widening the door is often the difference between a bathroom a walker fits through and one it does not.
Comfort-height fixtures and lever handles. Small specification choices, no extra labour, meaningful difference in daily use.
If you are planning ahead rather than reacting to a change, tell us at the estimate. Building it in costs far less than retrofitting later.

Before you call
How long will we be without the bathroom?
Two to three weeks for most full remodels. The room is genuinely out of service for nearly all of that — there is no partial-use stage in a bathroom the way there is in a kitchen.
If it is your only bathroom, tell us before we schedule. We can compress the critical path and stage material deliveries so the down time is as short as possible, but we would rather plan for it than surprise you.
We only have one bathroom. Is that a problem?
It is manageable but it needs planning. We sequence differently, order everything before demo so nothing stalls waiting on a vanity, and work consecutive days rather than spreading the job out.
Some clients arrange to stay elsewhere for the tile and plumbing stretch, which is the tightest part.
What warranty comes with the tile and waterproofing?
Punch list items are resolved within 5 business days of the walkthrough. Ask us directly about workmanship warranty terms on the shower assembly, and get the answer in writing — from us or from anyone else you are considering.
Do we need a permit?
Usually yes if plumbing is being moved or electrical is being added or relocated. A like-for-like fixture swap in the same location often does not. We pull whatever is required and schedule the inspections.
Can you move the toilet or shower to a different wall?
Usually, but relocating a toilet drain is the biggest single cost jump in a bathroom — it means opening the floor and re-running waste line with correct fall. On a slab or over a finished ceiling, that gets expensive fast.
Moving a sink or shower drain is generally easier. We will tell you what each move costs before you decide.
What if you find rot or old leaks behind the walls?
On older Capital Region housing stock this happens regularly, especially around tub surrounds and toilet flanges. We document it, show you, and price the repair before proceeding.
If the damage is significant it may be an insurance matter — see water damage restoration and our insurance claims page.
How far ahead should we order tile?
We finalise all selections before demo. Stock tile is quick; imported or specialty tile can run weeks, and a single back-ordered item can hold up an otherwise finished bathroom.
Order about ten percent extra. Dye lots vary between batches, and matching later is often impossible.
